What this service is

The SPHA Housing Assistant is an automated tool operated by the St. Petersburg Housing Authority. It answers general questions about our programs — applying for housing, the Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher program, public and affordable housing, paying rent, maintenance requests, and resident services — drawing on content published on stpeteha.org.

What it is not

• It is not a decision about your housing. Nothing the assistant says determines your eligibility, your place on a waiting list, or your rent. Only SPHA staff, following our official policies, can do that.
• It is not legal advice. If you are facing eviction or a legal dispute, consult a lawyer or a legal aid organization.
• It is not an emergency service. In an emergency call 911. For a housing crisis in Pinellas County, dial 211. For domestic violence, call 1-800-799-7233.
• It cannot access your account. It cannot look up your application status, rent balance, or work order.

Accuracy

The assistant is built to answer only from SPHA’s published information and to say so when it does not know. Even so, automated systems can be wrong or out of date, and program rules and waiting-list status change. Where the assistant and SPHA’s official communications disagree, the official communication governs. Deadlines and waiting-list openings should always be confirmed on stpeteha.org or by phone.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the assistant to submit false information or to impersonate another person.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Do not enter another person’s sensitive information without their permission.

We limit how many messages can be sent in a short period in order to keep the service available to everyone.

Your information

How we handle what you type is described in our Privacy Policy. Please do not enter your Social Security number, date of birth, or payment details.

Availability

We provide the assistant as a convenience and may change or discontinue it at any time. It may be unavailable during maintenance or outages. Every service it describes remains available by phone, by email, and in person.
